I’m always being asked about healthy, kid-friendly food. We’re pretty lucky in that our kid loves food, so all food is kid-friendly. No idea how much of that is down to us, but I suspect it’s largely down to him just being the way he is. We had to luck out on the food thing with sleep being so rubbish, right?
Anyway, as far as snacks go, when we’re out and about, I tend to prepare something much like the photo below.
This was his snack at the park while I taught my WOW session this morning: Apple, blueberries, oatcake, piece of cheddar, oaty bar. I object to the packaging on the bars, and could totally make them myself, but I never do. So for now they are a pretty staple part of the snack pot!
At home I try to stave him off with fruit and veg as much as possible: satsumas, grapes, cucumber, carrot sticks, peanut butter, hummus etc. He’s also a big fan of giant rice crackers. And for sure he would happily munch on bread and cake all day long if that were an option!
This website (Lunchbox Doctor) was recommended to me, and looks pretty good, so check it out if you need inspiration.
