3rd Jun ’23

All regular classes are running as normal through summer.  The only 2 exceptions when there will be no sessions running are Thurs 20th & Fri 21st July, and then w/c 21st August.

After May half term, in addition to the normal timetable, I’m running a 5-week block of in-person Monday evening WOW at Waterbeach Rec @ 7.15-8pm, which will be on  12/06, 19/06 (**This one session will be at Cottenham Rec), 26/06, 03/07, 10/07. This information is reflected on the TeamUp calendar. Please note the different location for the session on 19th June!!

The Monday sessions are now on TeamUp and available to book. But please read below first! 🙂

If you do not currently have any Lovefit membership, you can buy a pack specifically for this 5-week block: £40 for the 5 sessions. Once you have purchased the membership, please register for each of the Monday classes on TeamUp. If you miss a Monday night, you can book into the following Tuesday’s Sunrise on Zoom, and either join me live or get the recording. But the £40 membership is otherwise non-transferable. You also have the option to buy a standard 3-pack of sessions for £30 if you know you definitely can’t attend all 5 classes, and don’t want the Tuesday Zoom option. And I now have a PAYG pass for £11, but the 5-class pack works out much cheaper.

If you are a current Lovefit class member then your membership can be used to book the Monday night sessions.

  • If you already have an UNLIMITED monthly membership, then you can go ahead and book onto Monday nights as you please. No extra cost.
  • If you have a once per week pay monthly (“BASIC”) membership, you can either do the Monday nights instead of your normal class, or you can get a special discounted rate for the 5-class pass as an upgrade. Drop me an email on info@lovefittraining.co.uk if you want to do the Monday nights alongside your normal weekly class, and I’ll sort you out.
  • If you have a class pack (10 or 3-pack membership) you can book onto Monday night alongside or instead of your usual session. There is no limit on how many classes you do per week with a class pack, you just get through the pack quicker if you attend multiple sessions, and it’s less cost effective than a pay monthly membership.

Anyone is welcome, so if you know any other women who might want to join us for 5 weeks of fun, let them know and they can purchase the £40 “Summer ’23 Evening WOW – 5 pack” membership below…
https://goteamup.com/…/1799591…/memberships/137192/

December ’22

My class timetable remains the same (see November update below).
All classes are running as normal right thru Friday 23rd December – finishing the year with online barre.
There won’t be any classes the week between Christmas and New Year.
Classes start back w/c 2nd January, with the exception of the postnatal class (which is back on 11th Jan). The Sunrise session will start slightly later for that first week only. And first Friday of the month means our lucky dip workout.
As such, that first week of January will be as follows…

– Tues 3rd @ 7am Sunrise Circuits (Zoom) NOTE LATER START TIME ON 3RD JAN ONLY
– Thurs 5th @ 9.15am WOW (Cottenham Rec)
– Fri 6th @ 9.15am Abs Blast (Zoom)

And then my normal timetable will resume the following week.

November ’22

I am currently running my standard class timetable, which is four different sessions a week.

WOW:

TUESDAY 6.30-7:15AM @ ZOOM
THURSDAY 9.15-10.00AM @ COTTENHAM REC

The only in-person outdoor class is on Thursdays at Cottenham rec.  On drizzly / windy days we have a covered area to give us shelter, and if the weather is truly abysmal, we have access to an indoor space. As always, this class is an open class, suitable for all levels, and babies / toddlers (older kids during school holidays) are very welcome.
The Sunrise (early morning) session remains as a Tuesday morning Zoom class.  This is a great option for those who want to get their workout done and dusted before getting on with their day, and it is always recorded so you can book in and grab the recording if the dawn workouts aren’t your thing.

BARRE:

FRIDAY 9.15-10.00AM @ ZOOM

After a great block of evening in-person barre, we are now back to just the Friday morning online barre class, and the first Friday of each month is still usually a “LUCKY DIP” different class (think legs/bums/tums, mobility sessions, core blast etc) and then all the other Fridays will be barre as usual.  I will, of course, update the booking system so that you know what you are booking in for.
The plan for the next few months is:
Friday 4th November – Stretch & Release
Friday 2nd December – Core & Mobility
Friday 6th January – Abs Blast

BABIES:

WEDNESDAY 12:00 @ COTTENHAM VILLAGE HALL (AND ON ZOOM)

The postnatal class will continue running as a hybrid session.  We are loving the space at Cottenham village hall, and I’ll continue to stream the session on Zoom, as that works so well as a back up for those days when illness strikes, or leaving the house with a young baby simply isn’t happening. The class is always recorded, sent out to all participants (including any no-shows), and is available for a week.

Below is a quick overview of my weekly group offerings, effective 1st November ’22, running up until Christmas:

11th Aug ’22

As you know, there are no classes running through August.

My regular timetable will re-start on Tuesday 6th September, and continue through until Christmas (I *might* not run classes in October half term, w/c 24th Oct – TBC).

In addition to the normal timetable, I’m running a 5-week block of in-person Monday evening Barre at Cottenham village hall, which will be on 12/9, 26/9, 3/10, 10/10, 17/10 – no class on 19/9. And please note there will also be no Friday Zoom barre on 16/9 (regular Friday attendees will be able to book in to a Zoom livestream of the Monday night session on 12th Sept, and either attend that live or just get the recording to do whenever suits).  All this information is reflected on the TeamUp calendar.

The Monday sessions are now on TeamUp and available to book. But please read below first! 🙂

If you do not currently have a membership, you can buy a pack specifically for this 5-week block: £40 for the 5 sessions. Drop me an email on info@lovefittraining.co.uk if you want to do the Monday nights alongside your normal weekly class, and I’ll give you a special discount code to get the 5-week Barre pack at a discounted rate.

My usual timetable of classes will run as normal throughout June & July. I am not reinstating any permanent weekly evening classes at this point in time, but I will be doing blocks of evening sessions (or one off workshops / retreats) from time to time.

The first of these is a 5-week block of in-person Monday evening WOW sessions at Waterbeach Rec which will run from 13th June thru 11th July inclusive.

MONDAY (13/6 – 11/7 only) – 7pm WOW @ Waterbeach

TUESDAY – 6.30am Sunrise on Zoom

1st December ’21

I have made the decision to reduce my class offerings in order to free up my evenings and focus more on my little family. I am running a very scaled-back timetable between now and the Christmas break (see my membership / booking site TeamUp for remaining 2021 classes), and have stopped evening classes for the time-being.

Obviously with Covid numbers on the rise again, who knows what the new year will look like.  But as it happens, I only have one indoor class on my schedule for the new year – and will reassess that when January comes.  Keeping everyone safe is paramount.

The below changes will come into effect in January, with classes starting on Wednesday 5th January.

Personal training:

There will be no change to current protocols.  We are training in-person, with the doors open for ventilation in all weathers. For now, I am still not doing any hands on stretching etc.  If closer contact is specifically requested or required by a client (for example spotting heavy weights, or assessing diastasis on a postnatal client) then I will wear a mask and am “allowed” to get my hands on you.  I am continuing to take a lateral flow test twice a week to ensure everyone’s safety, and will respond and change according to guidelines.  Zoom continues to be an option for those who prefer that.
Please note, I am fully-booked for PT and have closed my waiting list too, as there are lots of people on it, and spots become free only very occasionally.  Rest assured if you have previously inquired and been told you were being added to the waiting list, you are still on it!

WOW:

TUESDAY 6.30-7:15AM @ ZOOM
THURSDAY 9.15-10.00AM @ COTTENHAM REC

It is with genuine sadness that I have stopped my Wednesday night Waterbeach WOW, which has been running in one form or another for over 13 years!!  So in the new year the only in-person outdoor class will be the Cottenham rec Thursday class, which started in September and has been really popular. As always, this class is an open class, suitable for all levels, and babies / toddlers (older kids during school holidays) are very welcome.
The Sunrise (early morning) session will remain as a Zoom class, but is moving to a Tuesday.  This is a great option for those who want to get their workout done and dusted before getting on with their day, and it is always recorded so you can book in and grab the recording if the dawn workouts aren’t your thing.

BARRE:

FRIDAY 9.15-10.00AM @ ZOOM

I am pretty much crying as I type this, but I am also stopping my Monday night barre class.  This session has been incredibly popular since it started 3 years ago, and was working really well as a hyrbrid too.  But being an evening session, it has to succumb to the cut!  FYI – I very much plan to reintroduce an evening barre class at some point in 2022.  I just need a break for a while, and know you all understand.

The Friday morning online class will stay as a Zoom class and won’t be in-person.  I am also going to continue shaking things up a little, and the first Friday of each month will be a “LUCKY DIP” different class (think legs/bums/tums, mobility sessions, core blast etc) and then all the other Fridays will be barre as usual.  I will, of course, update the booking system so that you know what you are booking in for.
The plan for the next few months is:
Friday 3rd December – Core & Mobility
Friday 7th January – Release & Stretch
Friday 4th February – Abs Blast

BUMPS:

Ok, full tears now.  Yep – my pregnancy class was an evening class, so that is also stopping for now.  Teaching that session since Milo was born has been an absolute pleasure, and a highlight of my week. But for now, there is no pregnancy class.  I do have plans to turn all of my knowledge, and years of class programming, into an online offering in the future, with a few in-person dates.  So that I can still continue to serve this population, but without it requiring quite so much of my time.

BABIES:

WEDNESDAY 12:00 @ COTTENHAM VILLAGE HALL (AND ON ZOOM)

This class will continue as it has been since September; running as a hybrid session.  We are loving the new space at Cottenham village hall, and I’ll continue to stream the session on Zoom, as that works so well as a back up for those days when isolation strikes, or leaving the house with a young baby simply isn’t happening. The class is always recorded, sent out to all participants (including any no-shows), and is available for a week.

Below is a quick overview of my weekly group offerings, effective 5th January ’22:

__________________________________________________________________________________

9th August ’21

September will mark a few changes to my class offerings as we hopefully move towards some pre-pandemic normality!  The main things to note are that:

– I am reinstating more face-to-face sessions.
– Several classes will be a hybrid (in-person, but also streaming on Zoom from the venue).
– All indoor classes will be moving to Cottenham Village Hall in a bid to consolidate my offerings, minimise complications, and to keep my travel time to a minimum.

The below changes will come into effect w/c 6th September.

Personal training:

Sessions have been running at my new 1-1 space since July, and there will be no change to current protocols.  For now, I am still not doing any hands on stretching / pad work (boxing) etc.  If closer contact is specifically requested or required by a client (for example spotting heavy weights, or assessing diastasis on a postnatal client) then I will wear a mask and am “allowed” to get my hands on you 🙂  I am continuing to take a lateral flow test twice a week to ensure everyone’s safety.  And Zoom continues to be an option for those who prefer that.
Please note, I am fully-booked for PT and have closed my waiting list too, as there are lots of people on it, and spots become free only very occasionally.  Rest assured if you have previously inquired and been told you were being added to the waiting list, you are still on it!

WOW:

WED 7.00-7.45PM @ WATERBEACH REC
THURS 6.30-7:15AM @ ZOOM
THURS 9.15-10.00AM @ COTTENHAM REC

There’s a big change to my Thursday mid-morning class.  Having taught at Vinery Road, CB1 for 11 years (!) I am saying my final farewell to Romsey Rec on Thursday 26th August, and will instead be teaching at Cottenham Rec from September 9th.  It’ll be the same class, just in a different venue, and probably with mostly new faces – so this is a great opportunity to join a session where there’ll be lots of other new joiners. The class is likely to be a 9.15am start, I’m just waiting for the school to confirm what time drop-off will be at the start of term.  As always, this class is an open class, suitable for all levels, and babies / toddlers (older kids during school holidays) are very welcome.
Wednesday night WOW is staying at Waterbeach Rec, with no plans to change that.  And the Sunrise (early morning) session will remain as a Zoom class.  The Sunrise is a great option for those who want to get their workout done and dusted before getting on with their day, and it is always recorded so you can book in and grab the recording if the dawn workouts aren’t your thing.

BARRE:

MONDAY 7.10-7.55PM @ COTTENHAM VILLAGE HALL (AND ON ZOOM)
FRIDAY 9.15-10.00AM @ ZOOM

I am continuing to offer both my Monday night and Friday morning barre classes on Zoom, but I am reinstating in-person Monday night barre.  This will be a hybrid class i.e. it’ll be face-to-face, and streamed on Zoom simultaneously, which also means it’ll be recorded.  There will, however, be a change of venue and this class won’t be returning to the Salvation Army in Waterbeach.  That venue isn’t yet committing to any fitness classes, and is understandably focussing on re-opening for worship as a priority, along with community events.  But I have found a brilliant shiny new venue at Cottenham Village Hall, where I will be teaching all my indoor sessions from now on.  The best bit is… no more carpet!  Much better for barre, and tonnes of parking available.  If the new venue doesn’t suit you, you can join on Zoom as you have been doing for the past 18 months (longer than we were actually at the Salvation Army, believe it or not)!
**NB: I am hoping that this class will work as a hybrid.  Getting the sound levels right for the people on Zoom as well as those in the room with me, will require some practise.  So if I can make it work, then this is the plan for the time being.  If it’s a disaster, I’ll reevaluate! Fingers crossed it’ll all work out well.

With the Friday morning online class, this will stay as a Zoom class and won’t be in-person.  I am also going to shake things up a little, and the first Friday of each month will be a “pot luck” different class (think legs/bums/tums, mobility sessions, core blast etc) and then all the other Fridays will be barre as usual.  I will, of course, update the booking system so that you know what you are booking in for.
The current plan is:
Friday 10th Sept (I’m not working on 3rd Sept) – Mobility & Release
Friday 1st October – Abs blast
Friday 5th November – Legs, Bums & Tums
Friday 3rd December – Core & Mobility

BUMPS:

TUESDAY 7.00-8.30PM @ COTTENHAM VILLAGE HALL (AND ON ZOOM)

This class will also be returning to in-person for the first time since March 2020, and I’ve made the decision to move my pre- and postnatal classes to Cottenham.  This is partly for ease – to try and have most of my sessions in one place (pre-pandemic, I had 5 different venues for 7 offerings), and partly because it’s a much nicer venue than any of the ones I have previously used.  As with all my indoor sessions, from September this will be a hybrid class that is also streamed on Zoom, whilst I teach at Cottenham Village Hall.

BABIES:

WEDNESDAY 12:00 @ COTTENHAM VILLAGE HALL (AND ON ZOOM)

This class has been back in-person since April, but we have been doing the class outside. From September we’ll be moving to Cottenham Village Hall.  The room is downstairs and opens out onto the rec, so if we have good weather we can fling open the doors and let the outside in.  And next summer, I plan to hold the class outside on Cottenham Rec, and just have the hall for back-up if the weather is not accommodating! Again, this class will be a hybrid session, and I’ll continue to stream the session on Zoom.

Below is a quick overview of my weekly group offerings, effective w/c 6th September (* denotes hybrid class):

And here’s the current schedule, effective until 27th August.  Please note, I am not working w/c 30th August, and there will be no sessions running that week.

__________________________________________________________________________________

17th May ’21

This week should have been the official opening of my new 1-1 gym space.  It is with very heavy heart that I announce that I cannot start using the new space just yet.  All my group sessions will be continuing as previously planned, but for ease of reference, here’s the latest:

Personal training: 1-1s continue to take place mostly on Zoom, or outside in a public space.  From w/c 17th May I can technically train clients inside their homes (as per guidelines).  However, my schedule is such that I do not have enough time between sessions to travel around.  There is a playing field behind my house which we can easily use if you’d like to be face-to-face.  And I can probably work it so that I could come to your home / garden if you are local to Waterbeach. I would appreciate clients letting me know their longer term plans, so I can sort my schedule to suit everyone.

My new personal training space will open at the earliest convenience.  I’m not going to propose a date anymore because there is a lot of uncertainty with house builds, it turns out!  I will be letting all my 1-1 clients know when it is safe for us to use the space.  The new gym will be super covid-safe as it is not connected to the main house, and has its own loo.  We still need to keep 2m apart, and I am happy to wear a face covering if preferred by the client (I do not recommend clients wear one while training)! The new gym space has large bifold doors and another door which can be opened for plenty of ventilation.
Zoom 1-1s will remain an option for anyone who is unable to travel to me.
I am not taking on any new personal training clients in the near future.

WOW: Face to face outdoor group exercise has been back since the end of March.  Wednesday nights at Waterbeach Rec and Thursday mornings at Romsey Rec (Vinery Rd) are in full swing.  Please bring water, a mat, and ideally a resistance band too. Feel free to also bring kettlebells / dumbbells etc if you have them. I am trying to minimise equipment sharing for now. It would be great if you could bring hand sanitiser if you intend to borrow any kit during the session.  I will not be bringing any spare mats, but will have bands at every class, and a few spare kettlebells on a Wednesday night.
The Thursday 6.30am “Sunrise session” is a permanent online offering, and will be recorded each week.
All of these sessions are 45 minutes long, and are circuit / HIIT / bootcamp-style.

BARRE:  Will continue twice a week online for the foreseeable.  Mondays 7.10pm and Fridays 9.15am.  Both sessions are recorded.
Indoor exercise classes are allowed to go ahead from 17th May, but big restrictions on numbers (100sqft/per 9sqm person) are still in place.  As such, I don’t expect to return to face to face barre classes any time soon, as it’s simply not viable to have less than half the normal capacity – not least because loads of you will miss out!  In addition, our old Monday night venue is not reopening for fitness classes at this point.
Monday nights will return face to face when there are fewer restrictions, and I will confirm once I know what’s happening with restrictions and venues (and the Indian Covid variant).  Please do let me know your wishes though – the only feedback so far has actually been a preference to remain online, but if lots of you tell me you’re itching to get back to in-person barre, I’ll look into alternative venues.  Also a note to reassure those of you who can only attend Monday evenings if it’s on Zoom – I won’t just switch things overnight.  I will aim to give a month’s notice as and when the time comes.
I have decided to keep Friday morning barre permanently online, however, so those who prefer a live at-home online experience can hopefully continue to join me then.

BUMPS: Will continue online for now.  Indoor classes can resume from 17th May but, as above, numbers are restricted to about 50% of normal capacity, so I don’t intend to revert to the old format straight away.  This class would lend itself to a simultaneous Zoom and face-to-face option, so I will continue to see what participants would prefer.  Again, let me know your preference.  I’d like to do the class outdoors as much as possible if we are meeting in-person, over summer when the evenings are warmer.  This makes everything safer, but also removes the number restrictions – I can have a full class outside.
As and when face-to-face Bumps classes resume, the simultaneous Zoom option will exist i.e. participants can choose whether they want to attend in-person, or join on Zoom, or get a recording.
In short, the delivery of this particular session is TBC and will largely depend on the appetite of the group, so please do get in touch with your thoughts.

BABIES: Has been running as a simultaneous in-person (outside) and Zoom session.  Owing to Milton community centre being used as a vaccination centre, I am holding the classes on Waterbeach rec instead, and intend to continue with this format over the summer.  In the event of bad weather, we’ll revert to Zoom for that week (or I’ll see if I can book the Waterbeach Tillage Hall – the building right next to the rec car park) on those occasions, but am hoping we can be outside most of the time.  I’ll continue to run Zoom simultaneously for those who wish to join from home, or prefer to get the recording.

Below is a quick overview of my weekly group offerings:

22nd March ’21:

With restrictions starting to ease from next week, here is my proposed ‘roadmap’ back to face to face.  Please note that all of this is subject to change and I will keep current members posted during class, as well as ensuring my newsletter contains the most up-to-date information.  Please do also keep an eye on my social media which is where I’ll update things as they change.  And my website will be updated later this week to reflect the following changes.

Personal training: 1-1s continue to take place mostly on Zoom, or outside in a public space.  I cannot train clients inside their homes at this time.  My new personal training space should re-open for 1-1 sessions w/c 10th May.  Clients will be able to train within this space as it is a designated work space, not connected to the main house, and has its own loo.  We still need to keep 2m apart, and I am happy to wear a face covering if preferred by the client (I do not recommend clients wear one while training)! The new gym space has large bifold doors and another door which can be opened for plenty of ventilation.
Zoom 1-1s will remain an option for anyone who is unable to travel to me, but I would appreciate clients letting me know their longer term plans, so I can sort my schedule to suit everyone.
I am not taking on any new personal training clients in the near future.

WOW: Outdoor group exercise can resume from 29th March, and is NOT subject to the rule of 6.  Wednesday nights at Waterbeach Rec will start back on 31st March.  Thursday mornings at Romsey Rec (Vinery Rd) will start back on 8th April at the new earlier time of 9.45am.

In summary:
Wed 24th March 7pm @ Waterbeach Rec
Thurs 25th March 6.30am @ Zoom (recording available)
Wed 31st March 7pm @ Waterbeach Rec

Then after Easter, regular WOW sessions will be as follows:
Weds 7pm @ Waterbeach Rec
Thurs 6.30am @ Zoom (always recorded too)
Thurs 9.45am @ Vinery Road
[NB: No sessions 1st April, nor w/c 3rd May]

BARRE:  Will continue twice a week online for the foreseeable.  Mondays 7.10pm and Fridays 9.15am.  Both sessions are recorded.
Indoor exercise classes should be allowed to go ahead from 17th May, but big restrictions on numbers (100sqft/per 9sqm person) are expected to be in place again.  As such, I don’t expect to return to face to face classes any time soon, as it’s simply not viable to have less than half the normal capacity – not least because loads of you will miss out!
Monday nights will return face to face when there are fewer restrictions, but I cannot say when this will be.  In my head I’m working towards a September return, but who knows! I would consider a simultaneous face-to-face class with a Zoom live stream option (as several ladies have said they’d actually love barre to stay online forever), but I think it would be very hard to get the sound levels right, and the music is so important for barre.
I am seriously considering keeping Friday morning barre permanently online though, so those who prefer a live at-home online experience can hopefully join me then.

BUMPS: Will continue online until at least mid-May.  Indoor classes can resume from 17th May but, as above, numbers are restricted to about 50% of normal capacity.  This class would lend itself to a simultaneous Zoom and face-to-face option, so I will see if there is appetite for that. Once the evenings are warmer (usually June thru August) I’d like to do the class outdoors as much as possible if we are meeting in-person.  This makes everything safer, but also removes the number restrictions – I can have a full class outside.
As and when face-to-face Bumps classes resume, the simultaneous Zoom option will exist i.e. participants can choose whether they want to attend in-person, or join on Zoom, or get a recording.
In short, the delivery of this particular session is very much TBC and will largely depend on the appetite of the group, so please do get in touch with your thoughts.

BABIES: Will be online for the next couple of weeks.  We cannot do indoor group exercise until at least 17th May, but I’d really like to run this class outside as much as possible over Spring & Summer, given the circumstances, and given outdoor exercise can resume imminently (and not subject to rule of 6).  As with Barre & Bumps, indoor exercise is restricted in terms of the number of participants.  I know that for the new mums, meeting in-person is a high priority, so I will be restarting face-to-face postnatal classes at the earliest opportunity.  From mid April I intend to run the class outside, and also have the Zoom livestream option, so you can book in to attend on Zoom or to join in-person at Milton.  If the weather is wet or very cold, then we’ll revert to Zoom-only for that week.  From mid-May, we can use the room at Milton in the event of bad weather.  However, the complication here is that we’ll be restricted to 6 participants.  So again, we’ll have to play it by ear to an extent.  But rest assured that face-to-face postnatal classes will start up on the first warm, dry day from mid-April, and the Zoom option isn’t going anywhere.

Below is a quick overview.  I appreciate various classes are changing on different dates, but this image gives you a an idea of the status quo for the coming weeks:

New timetable

_____________________________________________________________________________________

10th February:

Still in lockdown and, as such, all group offerings will remain online for the foreseeable.  Most 1-1s are also on Zoom as that suits most clients best, although we can do 1-1 outside in a public space.

Whenever lockdown ends, our return to face to face will depend on whatever restrictions are still in place.  Given March 8th is the earliest date for lockdown lifting I can’t imagine much will change before Easter, although I am hoping that WOW sessions will be back at the park ASAP.

During lockdown, I have not been running the Thursday 10.30am WOW session (normally at Vinery Rd park).  All other sessions have continued as normal, and Vinery Rd will be back up and running as soon as we can return to in-person sessions.  The lockdown Zoom schedule is below, and all starred sessions are recorded.  Please note, Wednesday night’s class is NOT recorded.

Please also note that I intend to take a couple of weeks off in April as we will be moving to the barn (finally).  Right now I am hoping that I’ll take off 1st-16th April, but those dates could get pushed back a week or two.  I’ll let you know as soon as things are confirmed. There will be no classes on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

29th December:

After the announcement that our area is in Tier 4 since Boxing Day, all Lovefit offerings will be on Zoom in the new year.  ALL group classes (including outdoor sessions) must run online in accordance with the guidelines.  1-1 personal training sessions can take place face-to-face outdoors at a public place, but not within private gardens.  So sorry not to be seeing you in the flesh as we start 2021.

22nd December:

It’s hard to know what the new year will bring in terms of rules, but I am doubtful it will be “better” in terms of our face-to-face training options.  So my guess (and current plan) is that things will continue as they have done through December (see below).  Once we have an update after Christmas and when the new year guidelines are released, I shall confirm plans.

2nd December:

As we move out of lockdown again, most things will remain as they were during lockdown as we will be in Tier 2 for the weeks running up to Christmas.  This means no household mixing indoors.  However, as a business I can now train people outside without restriction to numbers (so long as Covid-secure guidelines are being adhered to).  As such, Lovefit will operate as follows until the Christmas break:

My 1-1s are taking place either online, or outside at various public locations, for those who want face to face and don’t mind the wintry elements!  I cannot train anyone within their home at this time, indoors nor in their garden.

WOW: As before, both WOW sessions are back at their normal locations outside: Wednesday night at Waterbeach rec and Thursday mid-morning at Vinery Road.  Please bring water, a mat, and ideally a resistance band too. Feel free to also bring kettlebells / dumbbells etc if you have them. I am trying to minimise equipment sharing. It would be great if you could bring hand gel along with you so that you can sanitise your hands before using any borrowed kit.
The “Sunrise session” is a permanent online offering, and will be recorded each week.
All of these sessions are 45 minutes long, and are circuit / HIIT / bootcamp-style.

BARRE:  Will continue twice a week online.

BUMPS: Will continue online.

BABIES: Will be online, but I will offer the class outside if we have any milder weather!

5th November:

With the new lockdown, all sessions will be online via Zoom including 1:1 sessions (except for where clients wish to train outside at Waterbeach rec).

7th September 2020:

Following on from my last update a fortnight ago, I can now confirm the Lovefit schedule for the next couple of months (all being well)! Returning to face-to-face classes is exciting but, as you can imagine, there is a lot of red-tape especially for hiring venues. I have been filling my evenings completing risk assessments, figuring out financial viability for each offering, and deciding on the best way forward. For now, it seems the best plan is a hybrid approach: Some online classes, some outdoor classes, and some in-person sessions with simultaneous Zoom streaming / recording.

Here is the confirmed timetable, and below that is a little more information on each offering, so please have a read of what’s going on with your session:

My 1-1s are taking place either online, or outside at various locations, bespoke to each individual.

WOW: Both WOW sessions are back at their normal locations outside: Wednesday night at Waterbeach rec and Thursday mid-morning at Vinery Road.  Please bring water, a mat, and ideally a resistance band too. Feel free to also bring kettlebells / dumbbells etc if you have them. Equipment is available to borrow during the session, but I am trying to minimise equipment sharing. It would be great if you could bring hand gel along with you so that you can sanitise your hands before using any borrowed kit.
There is also a new early morning online WOW-style class.  This “Sunrise session” will be recorded, and is open to all so if any of you have partners / husbands / family who might want to join the fun, let them know.
All of these sessions are 45 minutes long, and are circuit / HIIT / bootcamp-style.

BARRE: Both weekly Barre sessions will stay online for the time being for the reasons mentioned in my last update on 21st August (below). I do not yet have a date for when we will return face-to-face, so please assume that these classes will remain online for the foreseeable.

BUMPS: This class will remain online for the time being, and I will be reassessing next month, with a view to hopefully reinstating the face-to-face sessions in late October, whilst offering Zoom simultaneously. However, for this half-term, we’ll definitely be staying on Zoom and not meeting in-person.

BABIES: There has been strong interest to return this session to an in-person class. As such, and to bring the best of both worlds, this class will now be face-to-face but with a simultaneous online component. This coming week (Wed 9th), and for as long as the weather holds up, we will be outside on the rec behind Milton community centre. If I am teaching outside, it’s unlikely 4G will be reliable enough to stream live on Zoom, so I will be recording and sending the recording out to those who cannot attend in-person. Once we are forced inside, the following will be standard practice:
– Max. 6 participants (plus me and babies) to enable safe distancing. If there are more than 6 members wishing to join class, some people would need to do Zoom instead, either as a live-stream or via the recording. Priority for a live spot will be first come first served.
– You must bring your own mat and band. I can provide a band if needed, and will clean all equipment before and after class, but am trying to minimise equipment sharing.
– I’m afraid I will not be able to offer refreshments after class at this time.
– I will not be able to offer hands on adjustments, nor tummy assessments for diastasis recti.
– Class will be live-streamed on Zoom simultaneously and recorded so that people who are not there in-person can either join live from home (for example if they are needing to quarantine) or get the recording to do at a later time. The recording will only show me, and the camera will not be facing any of the participants.
– Face coverings must be worn within the building, but not during exercise.
– I will require everyone to wash their hands or sanitise their hands on arrival at class.
– And obviously all other standard Covid-19 guidelines apply i.e. please do not turn up if you or other members of your household have experienced covid symptoms! If you need to quarantine, you don’t have to miss out completely, you can get the recording or do it live via Zoom instead.
I now have to turn up earlier, and stay later to do all the cleaning required by the venue as part of my hire agreement and risk assessment. This also means a longer hire period and increased hire charges. So please understand that I need to see how this goes, and whether it will be viable to run at reduced capacity, without all the normal benefits of being face-to-face (time to natter, share a snack, hang out at the end of class etc). I really hope so, as I am missing seeing you all in the flesh!

Strange times we are living in, and I promise I am doing my best to help bring a sense of normality, and keep as many people happy as possible.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to seeing you one way or another soon!

21st August 2020:

It’s been 5 months since lockdown started.  I so desperately want to be working with you all face to face.  When I started this business 12 years ago, it was in no small part because of the enjoyment I get from interacting with other people.  There have been many hugs over the years, high fives, team games, shared cuppas… And I miss them!

But staying safe, and keeping sessions accessible to as many of you as possible is of utmost importance.  With that in mind, some sessions will remain online as we move into autumn.  A few things are still TBC (owing to venue managers being on holiday and unable to confirm key information), but here is the proposed plan for September.  I will communicate confirmation of the below as soon as I have it:

1-1 Clients

Many of my 1-1 sessions are remaining online for a number of reasons, but I have chatted to each client individually and can continue to fit in with each individual’s personal requirements and circumstances.

Classes

My new timetable will be effective from w/c 7th September and should look like this:

**No classes w/c 24th August, as I am taking a week off**

**W/C 31st August:

  • No Barre on bank holiday Monday
  • Tues 1st Sept – BUMPS 7pm (Zoom)
  • Wed 2nd Sept – BABIES 12 noon (Zoom) / WOW 7pm (Waterbeach Rec)
  • Thurs 3rd Sept – WOW 10.30am (Zoom)
  • Fri 4th Sept – BARRE 9.15am (Zoom)

Then from w/c 7th Sept I’m hoping we’ll be running as follows…

WOW: Both existing WOW sessions will be back at their normal locations outside.  Wednesday night has been back at Waterbeach rec for several weeks, and Thursday mid-morning at Vinery Road will return on Sept 10th (that session will still be online on Sept 3rd).  On 10th Sept I’ll also start an early morning online WOW-style class.  This “Sunrise session” will be open to all so if any of you have partners / husbands / family who might want to join the fun, let them know.

BARRE: Both weekly Barre sessions will stay online for the time being.  One venue isn’t re-opening yet.  The other is, but the safety measures required make it unfeasible to run the class with children present – and most people attending that session bring their young children along. The general consensus has been that, much as we’re missing face-to-face classes, being in a room together doesn’t feel right yet, especially given how many of you normally attend, and how much voice projection I have to do to teach this class over the music.

BUMPS: Initially this class will remain online, but there is interest from some members to return to in-person sessions.  I am looking into viability and space required, with a view to *possibly* re-instating the class to Milton in late October (whilst simultaneously providing a Zoom option).  Watch this space.

BABIES: Interestingly, almost everyone who has recently inquired about joining this class, has asked if it will be face-to-face again.  It seems new mums are desperate to get back out there and feel that connection to others in the same boat.  With that in mind, I am hoping to be able to offer a best-of-both-worlds approach to this class, and am looking at returning back to a physical venue on 9th Sept (TBC*) whilst streaming via Zoom at the same time. [NB: Class will be on Zoom on 2nd Sept]. This would enable me to keep in-person class sizes small, whilst still being able to reach those who are further away, or prefer not to attend face-to-face.  I’d like to take the class outside where possible, which we have always done in previous summers.  But this particular class does not lend itself to wet or cold outdoor sessions, (unlike WOW which takes place outside year round).  This class is slower paced, we take time chatting to get to know each other, we spend time mobilising, so it works better inside if the weather is inclement. I’m waiting to hear from the community centre to find out if they have WiFi that would enable me to simultaneously Zoom and teach live. Again, watch this space.

I’ll be in touch early September to confirm everything 100%!

15th July 2020:

Having been fully online for almost four months at the time of writing, there will be some gradual changes ahead. Obviously everything is subject to change, depending on latest advice, a possible second wave (gulp!) and venue rules.

1-1 Clients

Almost all of my 1-1 sessions are remaining online for a number of reasons, but I have chatted to each client individually and can continue to fit in with each individual’s personal requirements and circumstances.

Classes

Up to this point I have had to keep everything online, even WOW which is an outdoor session (it’s all in the name). Finally outdoor restrictions have been lifted for businesses and we are no longer capped at 6 people – Hurrah!

Effective w/c 20th July, Wednesday night WOW will return to Waterbeach rec. All other group offerings, including Thursday mid-morning WOW will remain on Zoom for the summer. Please note there will be a break at the end of August while I take some time off from 21st-31st August.

Having polled my regulars, and spoken to all my venues, I am almost certain that no indoor face-to-face sessions will resume in September. As such, I anticipate Barre, Bumps (pregnancy) and Babies (postnatal) to stay on Zoom over the autumn. There would need to be a big drop in Covid-19 cases, and a lot more confidence from me and you before we start working out together indoors. Much as I miss you all, this really is for the best. And without being able to offer hands on corrections, assess post-baby tummies, or have a long natter with individuals at the end of class, continuing with Zoom makes the most sense. My virtual door is always open though, and if any of you need a chat and some company I would be happy to arrange a distanced walk with any of you. Or I’m at the end of a phone or email if that’s your preference.

Watch this space for updates on Thursday WOW at Vinery Road Rec. This session will remain online for now and I will advise on the return to the park ASAP. Come September I am considering a few options, but it’s very likely that I will add in a permanent online early morning WOW at around 6.30am.

Those of you who are not local to me, but have been joining Zoom classes from afar… Please contact me if the loss of a Wednesday night online session affects your membership, and I can advise on the best option for you going forward.

I’ll keep this link updated whenever things change, but the above has you covered until September.

Thanks you for your continued support and patience as we all navigate these crazy times!  X
