This is one for the ladies.

And any men reading this – one to consider for the ladies in your life 🙂

As most of you know, my mission is to enable women the world over to feel the best they can through effective exercise and nourishing nutrition. In order to make that happen I spend a lot of time and money continuing my education, researching, learning, networking and generally feeding my passion! Yesterday was no exception, so today I simply want to share my experience of the W.E.L.L Convention 2013 and to let you all know that – whatever your struggle – you needn’t suffer in silence. There are resources, people and professionals ready to help.

So, on Saturday 20th April I set off bright and early to London to be part of the very first W.E.L.L (A Women’s Exercise, Lifestyle & Learning) Summit. The convention was open to anyone working with women, so was attended by health and fitness professionals like myself, as well as physiotherapists, midwives etc. Over the course of the day we were given talks on:

– Optimum Nutrition for the Pre & Post Natal Woman (http://www.nourishtoflourish.com/)

– Unlocking the Secrets of a Better Menopause (http://www.dranuarasu.com/)

– Obesity & Pregnancy (Like)

– Juicing for Fabulous Health (Like)

– Diastasis Recti & Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (http://simplywomenshealth.co.uk/)

– Powerplate & the Postpartum Woman (Like)

– Women and Alcohol Addiction: “Mummy’s Wine O’clock” (like)

Plus various business and marketing sessions, and not to mention the wonderful breakfast and lunch laid on by The Pure Package.

It was great to spend the day surrounded by like-minded, passionate women and to hear so many wonderful stories and experiences. Particularly Lucy Rocca who shared a very personal account of her battle with alcohol dependency and how it affected her role as a mother. She has been tee-total for two years now, and has devoted herself to helping other women, via her very informative website: http://soberistas.com/ If you are interested in Lucy’s story or any of the topics above then you can follow the speaker on Facebook by clicking “like”.

My verdict? An awesome day with new relationships forged, leaving me feeling better able to serve women i.e. YOU!

I’ll be writing in more detail on some of these topics very soon, so watch this space!
