I named this post because of a video that has been going round on social media recently. It starts with the lines:

“I have a black dog. His name is depression.”

This is something that resonates with a lot of people. I’d go so far to say that each and every one of my readers has been affected by depression in some way. Whether it is something you suffer from personally, or have helped a friend or family member to cope with. At the very least, most of us have experienced periods of low mood at some point.

So I wanted to do my bit. As a health and fitness coach, I have worked with many people who have anything from poor self-esteem, right through to more severe clinical depression. We all know that exercise has been proven time and time again to help alleviate mild to moderate depression, but I wanted to offer something more in depth. So I wrote the Lovefit Winter Health Manifesto: 10 ways to stay happy and healthy this winter. And it’s my free gift to all of you.

So what is this manifesto?

It’s not a xmas “survival guide” or a “how to stay trim this winter”. Not even close.

It’s a guide aimed at helping people who perhaps feel a bit glum at this time of year. For those who struggle to get out of the house and for whom exercise becomes even more of a chore than usual. So whether you’re a SAD sufferer, or experience low mood at any time of year, the Lovefit Winter Health Manifesto is for you.

A lot of research has gone into producing this manifesto, but coupled with my own personal experience I’m hoping it has enough of a friendly touch to make it readable and usable.

The manifesto has a lot of my best stuff – information and advice that I use with my 1-1 coaching clients, plus some new nuggets that I have come across during my reading. So why am I giving it away for free?

Well, consider it my gift to you. A thank you for listening to my musings and for following team #Lovefit through 2013. We hugely appreciate your ongoing support and this is our way of saying thanks.

You can download the manifesto for free by simply visiting my website and popping your email address into the penguin box.

Please share, and I hope this helps lots of you.
