1) When did you join Lovefit?
Summer of 2011.
2) What sessions do you do?
3) What was your original reason for joining?
I do not feel comfortable in a gym or doing group exercise due to being very overweight and having a lack of body confidence, but I also realised that I needed to exercise with structure and on a regular basis. Finding a female 1:1 trainer was my answer so I researched and found Amber.
4) Why do you keep coming back?
My weight and self esteem issues continue, but seeing Amber twice a week keeps me moving. She understands my situation, never presses me on weight, but she will be the first person to help and encourage when I ask for it.
*[I should add that Claire has lost a lot of weight over the years, and continues to work hard every single week].
5) What is your proudest achievement to date?
For a fat girl (my words) I have done so much I never thought I would, thanks to Amber. Rowing was my thing and my time over 500 meters peaked at 1:44 but over the last year I’ve not come close to that so my current achievement is being able to swing a 24kg kettlebell as part of my workouts. My technique is not half bad (according to the expert)!
6) What is your favourite exercise?
I love to box, perfect for cardio and working out the day’s frustrations.
7) What do you do when you’re not training with Amber?
My Nephew is my world so I love to hang out with him. I enjoy travel and try to go on two long haul trips a year, but I am also very happy hanging out at home and catching up on TV.
8) What would you say to anyone thinking about signing up with Lovefit?
Sign up, you won’t regret it. Amber is so encouraging and helpful. She is a great teacher, either 1:1 or in a class environment, you will know that you have worked out but you will leave with a smile on your face.
